People Like Me

I tried to post this at the www.joblinglobe.com but they use a forum that doesn't allow you to register with a yahoo, hotmail or other free e mail account, thats one way to deny people freedom of speech, make em pay to be heard. So I posted it to a story that if they want to post it they'll do it tomarrow afternoon if they like what I've written. I also sent it to the editor but I won't hold my breath that they'll publish it.

PEOPLE LIKE ME

Friday while standing in a field located on Bush’s route I was verbally assaulted by one of Missouri’s finest. Because a women standing next to me was insulted by my right of free speech. You officer abused me and your badge by using intimidation to put fear of you in me. The only thing I fear is your allowed to be a police officer. I have no doubt in my mind had there not been several people standing there watching, you would have arrested me on some trumped up charge.

You accused me of making threats toward another person and when I asked you who I threatened you ignored me. And again you accused me of making threats toward the woman. You finally realized people were watching and so you decided it was best to walk away. I had made no threats toward anyone. You and that women didn’t like my sign WHO WOULD JESUS WATERBOARD?

I saw you officer standing by the road watching and glaring at me waiting for your chance to confront me. You even followed me to my car trying to intimidate me some more, chomping at the bit for another confrontation but still there were to many people watching. So you walked over to the woman I had supposedly made threats to. That woman thanked you for helping her with people like that. People like what lady? People like me who raised a son that joined the army four months after 9/11and who is now a 2LT. Whose job it will be to disarm IED’s when he gets to Iraq or Afghanistan. People like me who are still fighting to get armor for our soldiers and their vehicles. People like me who help raise money for the helmet insets Rumsfeld refuses to buy that would cut down brain injuries by 95% if the soldiers had them. And people like me who actually support our troops by doing more than buying a magnetic yellow ribbon stuck on my car and forgotten about.

Well I say it’s people like you lady who will vote to re-elected the same corporate bought politicians who for the last six years have held no oversight hearings to find the billions of tax dollars missing or ask why Halliburton is feeding expired food and filthy untreated water from the Tigris to our soldiers. It’s people like you lady who will cast your vote as if it’s a team sport and you want your team to win. It doesn’t matter how corrupt and immoral they are as long as your party wins. It’s people like you lady that has aided and abetted a congress that has striped every American of The Bill of Rights and it’s you lady that thinks you are safer now than before 9/11. Canadians, Mexicans, and people of the United Kingdom all agree in a recent poll that George Bush is more dangerous than Kim Jong Il or the President of Iran. It is you lady my son will protect by fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them here. I have earned my right to free speech because I have given you my son for your presidents war.

Yeah I’m people like that!
